New Kurdish entertainment television channel launches in Kurdistan

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A new Kurdish entertainment satellite channel, AVA Entertainment, launched its broadcast in the Kurdistan Region on Wednesday after five years of preparations.

“AVA is an entertainment television channel. Our goal is to present the real picture of Kurdistan, national values, and Kurdish culture to the world,” Mustafa Bayram, the owner of the TV channel, told Kurdistan 24 on Wednesday.

He mentioned that there are many Kurdish television channels in the Region dedicated to covering daily news, such as Kurdistan 24, but very few are devoted solely to entertainment that showcases Kurdish values and culture.

“Erbil-based AVA Entertainment will fill that gap in a modern way with its professional staff,” Bayram added.

He praised Kurdistan 24 and said that although it launched during a tough time in 2015 when the Islamic State was on the rise, the network has been very successful and reflects national values.

Bayram, who is originally from the town of Sirnak in the Kurdistan of Turkey, noted that the various programs on AVA Entertainment would represent and reflect the Kurdish culture in all parts of the Greater Kurdistan.

On the links between Kurdistan 24 and AVA Entertainment, he said there are no connections between the two as both are separate and independent television channels, but they share a friendly relationship.

The channel is available through Nilesat (Frequency: 11353|Pol: V|SR: 27500|FEC: 5/6).
