Kurdistan Region delegation participates in Munich Security Conference

The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC), Masrour Barzani, has been invited to participate in the 2018 Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Germany.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) has been invited to participate in the 2018 Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Germany.

Masrour Barzani, Head of the KRSC, traveled to Germany on Thursday to attend the security conference in Munich which will run from Feb. 16 to 18.

Over 450 senior decision-makers from around the world are expected to attend the 54th edition of the MSC, where current crises and future challenges to international security will be discussed.

According to a Kurdistan 24 source, the Kurdistan Region delegation is expected to meet with various world leaders.

The agenda for the 2018 MSC will focus on relations between the European Union, the United States, and Russia, the current conflicts in the Middle East, as well as issues of arms control.

The participants are also expected to discuss a wide range of international challenges such as terrorism, information warfare, and threats facing the global health and climate security.

German security forces have taken tight security measures as the number of police deployed in the city has increased in preparation for the conference.

Former Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani had attended the Munich conference for the past three years.
