‘Germany is a supporting partner in many of the KRG initiatives’: German Consulate in Erbil

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Saturday, the German Consulate General in Erbil stated that Germany is a supporting partner in many of the Kurdistan Region Government’s (KRG) initiatives.

“Today, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani briefed the Diplomatic Corps about all aspects of KRG policies,” the German Consulate General tweeted. “Germany is a supporting partner in many of the KRG initiatives he mentioned.”

On Saturday, Barzani met with top diplomats in Erbil, discussing the latest regional developments, his cabinet's reform initiatives, as well as Erbil-Baghdad relations.

“Today I briefed the diplomats based in the Kurdistan Region,” the prime minister tweeted following his meeting with the diplomatic corps. “Regional developments, government-formation in Baghdad, as well as Kurdistan’s reforms and new economic opportunities, were discussed.”

“I recounted the KRG’s progress in reform, government digitalization, and economic diversification,” Barzani said in his tweet. “We've passed major milestones in savings and revenue increase, and we're building global economic partnerships in agriculture and energy.”

Barzani added that they “also touched on security threats in the region, vaccine updates, and the recent migrant issue.”
