PM Barzani discusses Iraq situation with US military delegation

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a US military delegation in Erbil on Monday.

"The Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received an American military delegation headed by the chief military adviser and military attaché at the American embassy in Iraq General Keith Phillips," read a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government's website.

"In the meeting, they discussed the overall situation in Iraq and discussed ways to consolidate relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States, as well as the importance of strengthening coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi Army to confront terrorism," the statement added.

"The US military delegation praised the ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Peshmerga, especially the progress made in unifying the Peshmerga units, and stressed the need to continue supporting them."
