Five people detained in relation to Soran building fire
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – An investigation into the perpetrators behind the fire incident in a residential building in Soran district has concluded and five individuals have been detained for questioning, according to a Kurdistan 24 reporter.
However, a separate investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
The detainees include the main owner of the building and another owner of a furniture storefront on the first floor of the building, along with three of his employees.
A fire broke out on Friday night at a residential building in Soran district in northern Erbil province, where at least 14 people have so far been killed while 13 others were wounded, including firefighters.
The Kurdistan Region’s Soran Independent Administration on Saturday declared three days of mourning after the deadly inferno.
