Chinese Consul General boosts ties with Kurdistan amid visit to Kurdistan24

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Mr. Liu Jun, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Erbil, paid a visit to the Kurdistan 24 Institute for Research and Media, where he was warmly welcomed by Director General of Kurdistan 24 Media Corporation Mr. Ahmed Zawitey.

During his visit, the Consul General extended his Newroz greetings to the Kurdistan nation at large and specifically to the management and staff of Kurdistan24, expressing his hopes for a joyous holiday season for all families in the Kurdistan Region.

A focal point of the discussions was the enhancement of relations between the Kurdistan Region and China, as well as between Kurdistan24 and the Chinese Consulate.

The Consul General emphasized China's keen interest in deepening ties with the Kurdistan Region across all sectors. He lauded Kurdistan24's efforts in broadcasting the voices and messages of Kurdistan citizens to a global audience, noting that the work of the media outlet was closely followed by the consulate.

Additionally, the Consul General announced the upcoming launch of four journalism training courses in China, available to journalists worldwide, including those from the Kurdistan Region. This initiative follows a previous year's visit by several Kurdistan24 journalists to China for similar training.

In a gesture of cultural and professional exchange, Mr. Liu Jun extended an invitation to Mr. Ahmed Zawitey to visit China, offering him an opportunity to explore Chinese culture and society firsthand.

In response, Zawitey expressed Kurdistan24's appreciation for China and its people, highlighting the significance of China to both the Kurdistan Region and Kurdistan24. He conveyed plans for expanded journalistic endeavors in China, signaling a future of closer collaboration between the two entities.
