Newroz celebrated in French Parliament

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A celebration of Newroz was held at the French Parliament on Tuesday in the presence of Safeen Dizayee, head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Ali Dolamari, the KRG Representative to France, Wadih Betty, Iraq's ambassador to France, and French officials.

Dizayee told Kurdistan24 that Newroz is a significant holiday for the Kurdish people and that it holds a great deal of importance for them.

He hopes that other countries, such as France, will also honor Kurdistan's happy memories, not just its bad ones.

Regarding Erbil-Baghdad disputes, KRG Foreign Minister Head said “We are not pessimistic that the issues between Erbil and Baghdad will not be resolved. If there is strong will, the problems will be solved as soon as possible.”

On Monday, Mohammed Shukri, the Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment, told Kurdistan24 that "preparations are underway for an economic forum between French and Kurdish companies in Paris, scheduled to take place on May 21st this year."
