Magnitude 5.5 Earthquake Strikes Central Iran, Felt in Tehran

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iranian media reported on Friday that a 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck central Iran, with tremors felt in the capital, Tehran.

According to the official IRNA news agency, the quake occurred approximately 17 kilometers south of the city of Semnan, located east of Tehran.

Meanwhile, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a separate reading, reporting the earthquake at a magnitude of 5.1 and locating it in northern Iran.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Local authorities have not issued further updates.
