Israel to Resume Aid Airdrops Over Gaza, Establish Safe Corridors for UN Convoys

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Israel’s military announced on Saturday that it would resume humanitarian airdrops over Gaza overnight and establish designated humanitarian corridors to ensure the safe passage of United Nations convoys carrying food and medical aid, according to AFP.
“Tonight, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will resume the aerial airdrops of humanitarian aid, as part of ongoing efforts to allow and facilitate the entry of aid to Gaza,” the military said in a statement.
The IDF confirmed that the initial airdrop will include seven pallets of essential supplies—specifically flour, sugar, and canned food—donated by international organizations.
In addition to the airdrops, the military emphasized that humanitarian corridors would be set up to enable UN convoys to reach populations in need safely. These corridors are intended to minimize risks to humanitarian workers and ensure aid deliveries are not disrupted by ongoing hostilities.
"The IDF emphasizes that there is no starvation in Gaza; this is a false campaign promoted by Hamas," the IDF wrote on X. "Responsibility for food distribution lies with the UN & international aid organizations."

The resumed efforts reflect a partial response to calls from global humanitarian agencies and foreign governments urging Israel to ease restrictions on Gaza and expand aid access.
