PHOTOS: Kurds introduce culture, tradition in Saint Petersburg
MOSCOW, Russia (Kurdistan24) – Kurds in Saint Petersburg, Russia, organized an event to celebrate Newroz, Kurdish New Year, and introduce Kurdish culture and tradition to Russians.
The event was held on Thursday as part of House of Nationalities where nations that celebrate Newroz Eve took part. In the event, Kurdish community under the name of United Group exhibited Kurdish handicraft and photography.
Muraz Broyan, the head of the Kurdish group told Kurdsitan24 that the displayed artwork attracted the attention of the attendees and the governor of Saint Petersburg.
Over 2,500 Kurds live in this city in Russia, according to unofficial data. Kurdish United Group was formed in 2015 to represent Kurds in Saint Petersburg.
