Kurdistan Region top officials mark 75th anniversary of V-Day
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two (WWII), Kurdistan Region's top officials issued messages to honor those who sacrificed their lives "to change the course" of history.
Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani stated in a tweet: "On this day, I honour the men and women of a generation who changed the course of the last century."
"Their sacrifices, and the pursuit of a common struggle by many nations that had their share of differences, will never be forgotten," Barzani added.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, in his message, said, "I congratulate the U.S. and European nations and their leaders on victory day, and honor those who fought to bring peace and freedom to millions in Europe and around the world."
President Barzani also congratulated Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin, on Victory Day. "While we can’t personally honor the sacrifices of the brave men & women who helped bring peace to Europe & the world at this time due to COVID-19, our thoughts are with them on this day."
