Lebanese Minister of Justice visits Kurdistan Region

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Lebanon’s Minister of Justice Henry Khoury and his accompanying delegation on Monday. 

Khoury, who was accompanied by Lebanon’s Judicial Council President and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral ties between Lebanon and the Kurdistan Region.

The Lebanese delegation indicated their country’s particular interest in exchanging experiences in the judicial field with the Kurdistan Region. 

Prime Minister Barzani also expressed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) readiness to enhance its cooperation with Lebanon’s judicial authority.

In the meeting, Barzani also underlined the important role of the independent judicial authority in the Kurdistan Region. 

Khoury arrived in Erbil on Sunday evening after a brief visit to Baghdad, where he met with several senior Iraqi officials.

Khoury was invited to Iraq to participate in a commemoration event for Iraqi Judiciary Day, held on Jan. 22. Judicial and diplomatic figures attended that event.
