KRG President Nechirvan Barzani condemns bombings in Iran

On Wednesday, two bombings occurred during a ceremony commemorating the fourth anniversary of the death of General Qasem Soleimani, near his tomb in Kerman.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday condemned the “terrorist bombings” that targeted the city of Kerman in Iran, which killed at least 103 people.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the leadership, Government, and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran during this difficult time,” the Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani said.

“We stand in solidarity with them and share their sorrow. May the souls of the victims rest in peace, and may their families find solace and comfort in this trying period. We hope for a swift recovery for the injured.”

Earlier today, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in a post on X also condemned the “cowardly attacks in the Iranian city of Kerman.”

On Wednesday, two bombings occurred during a ceremony commemorating the fourth anniversary of the death of General Qasem Soleimani, near his tomb in Kerman.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Iraqi government also earlier condemned “the terrorist incident” in Iran and offered its assistance.
