MyAccount project delegation to meet Iraqi officials in Baghdad

As Marwan Ahmad stated the purpose of the delegation to Baghdad is "to discuss and present the details of the KRG's 'MyAccount' project to the government in Baghdad as well as officials of the Central Bank of Iraq."

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - A delegation from the MyAccount project will travel to Baghdad to meet with representatives from the Iraqi government and the Central Bank.

Marwan Ahmad, supervisor of the "MyAccount" project in the Office of the Prime Minister, stated, "A delegation from the MyAccount project is scheduled to depart for Baghdad this evening to meet with representatives of the Iraqi government and central bank officials tomorrow," he told Kurdistan24.

As Marwan Ahmad mentioned in another part of his speech, the purpose of the delegation to Baghdad is "to discuss and present the details of the 'MyAccount' project of the Kurdistan Regional Government to the government in Baghdad as well as officials of the Central Bank of Iraq."

To date, over 250,000 civil servants have been registered to MyAccount. MyAccount initiative supervisor stated that over 140,000 cards issued to employees.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is continuing to expand the "MyAccount" project and has now begun registering salaried employees in seven cities in the Kurdistan Region. More than 4,000 employees are registering daily in the MyAccount project, which involves five major banks, with several other banks expected to join.

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Awat Janab Nuri, Minister of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), stated in a media interview, responding to Kurdistan24 correspondent Zhino Mohammed, "MyAccount is a project aimed at modernizing salary payments. We offer 19 services, whereas the Iraqi system does not provide all 19 services for salaried employees."

"The MyAccount project was established with the approval of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the Central Bank of Iraq, and several Iraqi banks will participate in the project," he said.

"Through MyAccount, employees can access banking services, making procedures much easier for them. Most importantly, employees can obtain housing and marriage loans through MyAccount," he added.
