BARCELONA, Spain (Kurdistan24) – Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on Tuesday told reporters his team must remain consistent in European competitions to achieve success.

The Premier League side prepare to take on Spanish giants Barcelona in match week three of the UEFA Champions League group stages on Wednesday night.

Barcelona had defeated opponent Man City on all four previous competitive meetings between the sides.

Moreover, the La Liga side is undefeated in their last 12 Champions League matches at home in the Camp Nou, winning all of them.

Guardiola, who managed Barcelona from 2008-2012 winning several prestigious trophies including the Champions League, said his Man City team were ready to face the “best team.”

The Man City boss remained confident in his side’s chances explaining that their target was to “grow” in the competition.

“You are important in Europe when you are there a lot of times, and that is a next target for [us],” he said.

“We have to adjust, but we will be ourselves as much as possible,” he added.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique reserved praise for his managerial counterpart and former teammate, stating Guardiola was “the best coach in the world.”

“Pep really is a good friend. I think he’s the best coach in the world. I love his attacking mentality,” Enrique said at a pre-match press conference.

“[Man] City are doing great right now, and I really notice the immense impact that Pep’s had on the way they play,” he added.
