Kurdistan Presidency, Government strongly condemn Istanbul terror attacks

The Kurdistan Region Presidency (KRP) and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Sunday strongly condemned the “terrorist attacks” in Turkey’s Istanbul.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Region Presidency (KRP) and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Sunday strongly condemned the “terrorist attacks” in Turkey’s Istanbul.

The KRP issued a statement condemning the attacks in the city and sent condolences to the families of the victims.

Moreover, the KRP wished a speedy recovery for the injured people.

The statement also mentioned the target of terrorists was to destabilize people’s lives in every part of the world.

“We are confident the inhumane activities and terrorist ideas will fail and never succeed,” the KRP report continued.

Additionally, the KRG also condemned the attacks and expressed sympathy to the victims’ families.

“Terrorists will fight against human values any time they get a chance,” the statement said. “Their behaviors are far from all human and moral values.”

The KRG called on the free world to eradicate terrorist ideologies and sources as the primary target for all.

“The KRG and people of the Kurdistan Region understand the pain of terror very well as they have been on the forefront of the Da’esh battle and continue to defeat terrorists with the support of its allies,” the statement added, using the Arabic pejorative for the Islamic State (IS).

On Saturday night, twin attacks by a suicide bomber and a car bomber near an Istanbul football stadium killed 38 people, including 30 police officers, and injured 155 others.

Following the violence, ambulances rushed to the scenes and transferred the wounded people to the nearby hospitals.

The Turkish government arrested 13 suspects in connection with the terrorist attack, said the Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu on Sunday.
