ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – The Head of the Kirkuk – Garmiyan court on Wednesday sent a detailed message to the Judiciary Authority Council about a man sentenced to 11 years in prison for stealing milk and diapers.

The Court rejected the “baseless” rumors spread on social media and news agencies about the man from Kifri town sentenced to 11 years in prison for only stealing milk and diapers.

The message mentioned the court had sentenced the man, Ahmed, whose name was changed by Kurdistan24 to preserve anonymity, for 10 years and six months in prison for stealing various things from several shops and houses at different times.

It revealed 13 different cases where Ahmed had stolen IQD 250,000 (USD $211) from three different shops in the town.

The message also noted he had stolen two trimmer machines from a shop, and 15 gas cylinders from eight houses and shops in total.

Moreover, the court stated Ahmed stole several products from different shops and houses such as weapon magazines, cement, and construction materials.

The court explained the combined cases of theft in total required a sentence of 10 years and six months.
