The city of three million has been turned into a “ghost town”

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On the third day of Russia’s invasion, the streets of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, are virtually empty.

The Kurdistan 24 reporter, Azad Altun, roamed the streets of Kiev, and found only closed shops and empty streets, with little to no activity, even within train and subway stations.

Azad Altun said that the Russian airstrikes on Kiev had turned the city of about three million people into a "ghost town".

The Ukrainian Minister of Health announced that 198 civilians had been killed, including three children, and more than thousand others had been injured since the start of the Russian invasion.

"Unfortunately, according to the data, 198 people were killed by the invaders, including three children, and 1,115 others were injured, including 33 children," Minister Viktor Liashko said in a post on social media.

Earlier on Saturday morning, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called upon Ukrainians not to surrender and to defend Kiev, as clashes erupted between Russian and Ukrainian forces on the outskirts of the capital.
