Three security police injured in Turkish drone strikes in Syria: ISF
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The General Command of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) - North and East Syria ( known as Asayish) in a press conference on Wednesday said three Asayish officers were injured in Turkish drone strikes on Tuesday.
The ISF is the official police network of the recently renamed Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES).
“This targeting is a clear attempt to spread chaos throughout our regions, because our forces are responsible for the security and protection of the members of society,” an Asayish spokesperson said per the statement.

In the last two days, Turkey carried out several drone and airstrikes in northeast Syria and the Kurdistan Region, after 12 Turkish soldiers were killed in combat with Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) insurgents in the Kurdish region of Iraq.
Notably, Turkey does not distinguish between the PKK and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), considering the latter to be an offshoot of the PKK. The SDF has denied links to the PKK.

The Turkish drone strikes on Tuesday targeted four ISF checkpoints near Qamishlo, six checkpoints near Kobani, and one checkpoint near Amude.
According to a statement of the SDF, the Turkish drones and jets targeted several locations in northeast Syria, killing at least eight civilians, and injuring 18 persons.
The SDF said “the impact extended beyond human casualties, as civilian homes, hospitals, schools, and various essential infrastructures and service and industrial facilities—such as gas
stations, power stations, health centers, mills, hospitals, oil fields, factories, and public transport stations.”
On Christmas Day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a speech at an event commemorating a late Turkish poet in Ankara, where he remarked "The treacherous attacks in northern Iraq are an attempt to undermine our country.”
“We must take a united stance together against the terrorist threat that strives to damage our inner society and weaken us,” the passionate leader added.
