ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Thursday, the statement from Dohuk Governor Ali Tatar announced that a number of projects in the Dohuk province are in their execution phase which have already been approved and the budget allocated by the Kurdistan Region Government.

One of the mentioned projects is a tourist attraction project which could help with the increase of tourist visits to the Dohuk province significantly. This project is called “Rooye Shin” or “Blue Face” which is a corniche in Shiladze in the Amedi area.

The other projects are: the Judicial Tower in Amedi, an open water channel in Dohuk Dam, a water distribution project in Akre, and the purchase of road construction machines for the General Directory of Construction and Residence in Dohuk.

The Shiladze corniche is located on the river Rooye Shin, a name chosen for the project also. Shiladze is the largest district in the Amedi area in Dohuk province. The population of Shiladze has reached 50 thousand. The allocated budget for the project is more than 3 billion and 400 thousand Iraqi dinars.

The office of Dohuk Governor also published photos of the design of the project which has adapted modern design. Upon its completion, the project could make Shildaze an important center for tourism. This is the second corniche project in the Kurdistan Region.

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday inaugurated the Delal Corniche in the Zakho Independent Administration, in which he delivered a speech and addressed many pressing issues in the region.

As the land elevation surrounding the Delal Bridge's Khabur River is considerably higher relative to the river itself, the corniche roads offer pedestrians convenient walkways along the Khabur’s “ledges.”

In turn, the renovated Delal area intends to boost the city's tourism, entertainment and business sectors, in addition to providing a refined communal area for residents.
