ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdish poet and novelist from Rojava Kurdistan, Aziz Khemcivin (Ezîz Xemcivîn), has written a new novel titled "Zabêl Ez Ermenî Me" about the tragedy that befell the Armenian nation.

The novel "Zabêl Ez Ermenî Me" is the second novel by author Aziz Khemcivin and was published by Sitav Publishing House. The cover of the book was designed by designer Luqman Ahmed.

Author Aziz Khemcivin told Kurdistan24 about his new work: "The content of the novel revolves around the life of an Armenian character, Serkis Kevo, who was 9-10 years old during the tragic events. Because his nation was targeted, he found himself hiding until a Kurdish man saw him and helped him escape on his horse at dawn towards a border. Unfortunately, they were attacked by enemies. The Kurdish man was killed, and he told Serkis to run and find safety."

He also says: "The novel depicts the tragedy that the Armenian nation faced and the events that occurred. Serkis Kevo represents one of the two million Armenians who were either killed, exiled, or disappeared under the rule of the Ottoman empire and its mercenaries."

The author, Aziz Khemcivin, also stated, "There are dozens of interesting stories and experiences in the novel 'Zabêl Ez Ermenî Me'." The events of the novel were inspired by many different regions.

Regarding the writing of this novel, Aziz Khemcivin stated: "I have been working on this novel for three years. Writing a documentary novel is more difficult than other genres because it involves historical events that require a lot of attention, especially since the content and history of the novel date back to the year 1915 and after, when the tragic fate of the Armenians was sealed, necessitating numerous resources."

Aziz Khemcivin was born in the city of Hasekeh in Rojava Kurdistan. He began writing poetry in 1982 and has since produced many literary works in the fields of poetry, the Kurdish alphabet, and research. He also published his first novel, "Zero," in 2019.
