US Energy Summit discusses clean energy

In the U.S.-Caribbean-Central American Energy Summit held on May 3 and 4 in Washington, DC, a number of participants talked about the results of the energy task force for the Caribbean and Central America announced by President Obama last year.

WASHINGTON DC, United States (Kurdistan24) - In the U.S.-Caribbean-Central American Energy Summit held on May 3 and 4 in Washington DC, a number of participants talked to Kurdistan24 about the results of the energy task force for the Caribbean and Central America which were announced by President Obama last year.  

Sarah-Ann Lynch, a Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator at USAID Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean, told Kurdistan24 that the US is interested in sharing the Caribbean knowledge of clean energy throughout the globe.

Melanie Nakagawa, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Transformation in the Bureau of energy resources, talked to Kurdistan24 about the efforts between the US and the Caribbean for collaboration on energy security.    

Robin Dunnigan, Deputy Assistant for Energy Diplomacy in the Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources, talked to Kurdistan24 about the efforts by the US and the Caribbean to produce more reliable and sustainable energy to make the region more competitive. She talked about the steps to ensure a more secure, affordable, and clean energy in the future.
