Khamenei: Trump shows depth of corruption in US

The new US President proves America’s human rights is no longer tenable, said the Iranian Supreme Leader on Tuesday amid escalating tensions between Iran and the US.

TEHRAN, Iran (Kurdistan24) – The new US President proves America’s human rights is no longer tenable, said the Iranian Supreme Leader on Tuesday amid escalating tensions between Iran and the US.

Speaking to a group of Iranian Air Force commanders, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei mocked the new US administration under President Donald Trump.

“We are thankful to this new guy who showed the true face of America, what we have been trying to do for over 30 years,” he said

“We had been working to show the world the depth of corruption in the US government and ranks and files of the ruling elite; Trump did it in a few days after coming to the White House,” Khamenei continued.

“Their claims to human rights are no longer tenable,” he added.

President Trump’s executive order banning residents of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US or applying for American visas for 90 days received criticism worldwide last weekend.

The decision resulted in the detention of some valid visa holders, including a 5-year-old Iranian boy.

Referring to that incident, the Iranian Supreme Leader said: “By embarking on such actions, like putting handcuffs on a 5-year-old kid, [Trump] is demonstrating the reality behind the American human rights.”

Iran’s ballistic missile tests last week along with hostile comments by the leaders of both countries have deteriorated the bilateral relations.

On Friday, the Trump administration imposed new sanctions over Iran’s missile test.

On Saturday, US Defense Secretary James Mattis called Iran “the single biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.”

Trump, who had described Iran’s nuclear deal with the 5+1 world powers as “really, really bad,” also tweeted “Iran has been formally PUT ON NOTICE.”

He added the Tehran government should have been “thankful” for the “terrible deal” brokered by the Obama administration.

Moreover, Trump has not ruled out the possibility of military action against Iran.

“We would always speak about the political, economic, moral, and social corruption in the US administration — this man revealed it during the election campaign and since then,” Khamenei concluded.
