ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Iraqi Federal Court cannot change the political course of parliament, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Iraqi Parliament member Vian Dakhil told Kurdistan 24 on Tuesday.

"No matter what decision the federal court will make on Wednesday, it won't change the parliament’s elected presidency members," Dakhil said.

The Federal Court suspended parliament sessions following complaints submitted by Shiite Coordination Framework parliament members against the circumstances in which the parliament presidency members were elected.

On Wednesday, the Iraqi Federal Court is expected to issue a decision to lift this suspension.

"The Iraqi parliament will hold its second session on Feb. 8 to elect the next president of Iraq," Dakhil revealed.

"The three main blocs in the parliament, the KDP, the Sadrist movement, and the Sunni Alliance of Azm and Progress Party have determined the political cases and the other Shite parties, particularly the Shiite Coordination Framework, should come up with an agreement with these three main blocs," she said.

Visits by Hadi al-Amiri, leader of the Fatah Alliance and secretary-general of the Iran-backed Badr Organization, to Najaf and Erbil were to discuss having the Shite Coordination Framework enter the main political circle in the parliament, Dakhil revealed.

"We as KDP have had no reservation against any alliance participating in the next Iraqi government," she underlined.

"What is important for the KDP is to guarantee the constitutional rights of Kurdistan's people.
