ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A Turkish drone targeted a car on the road between Amude and Darbasiya in Syria's Hasakah province on Saturday, injuring one person, the Syria-based Rojava Information Centre (RIC) reported.

“A Turkish drone attack targeted a car in Jawhariyah, on the Amude-Darbasiyah road. At least 1 was injured & transported to Amude hospital,” the RIC said in a tweet.

“Reportedly, the car was stationed in front of the local offices of HPC (Civil Defense Forces), a civilian neighborhood defense force.”

The RIC also added that a Turkish drone attack killed a child and injured 3 civilians on the same road on Thursday.

On January 2nd, ISIS used an explosive-laden car to attack Hasakah's al-Sina'a prison, while detainees rioted inside. At that time, the prison held between 3,000 and 3,500 suspected terrorists.

Following more than ten days of fighting, the SDF announced on Jan. 30 that it had fully recaptured the facility after the remaining ISIS fighters had surrendered.

After the announcement, Turkey increased its shelling and drone strikes against Kurdish fighters in northeast Syria, including near Derik, Tel Tamir, Ain Issa, Tal Abyad, Manbij, as well as Kurdish villages in northern Aleppo (Shahba).
