KRG President and Allied Forces Commander-in-Chief confer on security, cooperation

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The President of the Kurdistan Region, along with the Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Forces in Iraq and Syria, and their accompanying delegation, are meeting to discuss the security and military situation in the area, as well as mutual assistance and cooperation.

In an statement from KRG Presidency, it was announced that the President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani met with the Commander of the Allied Forces in Iraq and Syria, Major General Joel Vowell, along with his accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, Peshmerga Minister Shorish Ismail was also present, and discussions were held regarding the security and military situation in the area.

As part of the meeting, a summary of the work and activities of the allies in the area was presented. Both sides agreed on the continuing threat of ISIS in Iraq and the region, emphasizing the need for coordination and assistance from the allies with the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga to address these threats.
