President Barzani and Shiite Cleric Sadr reaffirm strategic alliance is coherent

The two leaders reaffirmed that the strategic alliance is coherent and is proceeding to expedite the formation of a national majority government

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – In a phone call late Saturday, the Sadrist Movement leader Muqtada al-Sadr and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani reaffirmed that their strategic alliance is “coherent.”

The two leaders emphasized that their alliance is proceeding with the formation of a national majority government.

“The strategic alliance is proceeding to accelerate the formation of the government of the national majority to carry out its duties towards the Iraqi people, meet their aspirations, preserve their higher interests, and consolidate the pillars of stability and prosperity,” read a statement from Barzani Headquarters Facebook page following the phone call.
