200 BCF employees helped flood victims in Duhok: BCF official

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Salah Hassan, deputy director of the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) office in Duhok province, told Kurdistan24 that 200 BCF employees helped flash flood victims in Duhok.

“The first step taken during the floods in Duhok was to evacuate people to a safe location. Afterward, we provided the victims with essential supplies,” Hassan stated.

The BCF official also noted that we provided aid to the victims and cleared the affected areas with the help of 200 agency employees and several volunteers.

" We have also carried out the evacuation of all individuals whose properties have been damaged," he added.

Earlier, Governor Ali Tatar of Duhok stated that the process of compensating the victims of last week's floods is currently underway. “To date, a total of 352 affected families have already received compensation.”

On March 19, Duhok province bore the brunt of the downpour, leading to flooding in multiple neighborhoods, submerging homes, and blocking several roads.
