'PYD, PKK are Russia's security clients against Turkey'

WASHINGTON, United States (Kurdistan24) – In an interview with Kurdistan24, Dr. Soner Cagaptay, the Director of the Turkish Research Program at the Washington Institute, discussed Russia-Turkey relations.

Cagaptay mentioned that if Russia recognizes autonomy for Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava), both Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) will become Russia's security clients in the region, which he believes will be a “disaster scenario” for Turkey.

Cagaptay is the Beyer Family Fellow and Director of the Turkish Research Program at The Washington Institute.
