PM Barzani says Swiss experience could help with developing Kurdistan

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Wednesday received the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq and Jordan, Lukas Gasser.

The officials discussed the latest developments in Iraq, efforts to form a new federal government, and ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and Switzerland, a statement from the prime minister's office said.

Gasser thanked the Erbil government for its coordination and cooperation with the Swiss Embassy ​​and expressed his country's readiness to expand ties and encourage Swiss companies to come to the Kurdistan Region, the statement added.

The Kurdish premier highlighted his cabinet's reforms efforts, including works on the diversification of the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) sources of revenue.

He also noted that the KRG could benefit from the successful Swiss experience in developing the Kurdistan Region at all levels, the statement concluded.
