ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Emily Thornberry, a UK parliament member of the Labour Party, on Tuesday Responded to Kurdistan 24’s correspondent Dilovan Emadaldin, regarding a variety of issues in the Middle East.

Responding to Kurdistan 24’s correspondent Dilovan Emadaldin about immigration policy, Thornberry said that, “the difference that we have taken in asylum and immigration policy is that we would have this firm, fast, and fair.”

She also said that they had not received any assistance from the current UK administration, despite the matter’s urgency.

“We need to be quite clear about what the rules are. The last thing you want is for people to look at you sideways,” she underlined while taking a slight jab at the ruling Conservative Party.

Regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, Thornberry stated that she fully understands how passionate and strongly people feel about it.

“I do understand it and if the vote is up to an individual – which way they want to vote and who they want to vote for – then there are lots of different things that will come into play,” she noted.

Besides being a Parliament member, Thornberry is also the Shadow Attorney General for England and Wales.

“Whether or not people of Middle Eastern background think that a conservative government would be better for them, then obviously this would be a matter for them whether they would vote for conservative or not,” Thornberry concluded.
