ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – US State Department Regional Spokesman Samuel Werberg told Kurdistan24 on Wednesday that the current Biden administration emphasizes the importance of normalizing relations with all nations and their people in the Middle East.

The spokesman also said that the US emphasizes, in particular, “strengthening relations with the Kurdish people.”

“We believe that stability is the most important factor in order to protect the people of the Middle East from terrorist attacks and prevent Iran from interfering in their affairs. We need to have coordination and relations between the US and nations in the region,” Warburg noted.

Meanwhile, he added that the US does not wish to impose its will on countries in the region.

Werberg is the Director of the Dubai Regional Media Hub and is one of the US Government’s principal Arabic-language spokespeople.  He previously served in diplomatic capacities in Egypt, Morocco, Iraq, Thailand, Kuwait, and the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs in Washington, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco.
