PM Barzani urges immediate action to protect lives amid Duhok flooding

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region (KRG) Masrour Barzani has called for urgent measures to protect the lives of citizens in Duhok.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani communicated with Dr. Ali Tatar, the governor of Duhok, and emphasized the need for immediate action to safeguard citizens' lives.

In a statement, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani reiterated the Kurdistan Regional Government's readiness to provide urgent assistance to protect citizens in Duhok and other provinces.

Additionally, the Duhok governor stated that KRG's Minister of Interior Reber Ahmed is actively working with Governor of Dohuk to mitigate flood damage and ensure citizen safety.

Heavy rains have affected the Kurdistan Region since Tuesday morning, leading to floods in Duhok, resulting in the closure of several neighborhoods and roads.

Kurdistan24 reporter Chakdar Jamal in Duhok reported significant damage in the Domiz community, as well as the Barooshke and Nazarke neighborhoods. Many houses were flooded, causing extensive damage to property.
