Autonomous Administration transfers ISIS relatives to Spanish delegation

The process of returning ISIS families from camps in Rojava began on December 15 with the aim of closing the camps. So far, 34 women and children of foreign ISIS fighters have been transferred to the Russian government delegation.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) has handed over two women and two children from the detained families of ISIS fighters in the Roj camp to a Spanish government delegation.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Qamishlo, West Kurdistan, coordinated with the Spanish government to return two women and two children of Spanish origin from the Roj camp to a Spanish government delegation.

The process of returning ISIS families from camps in West Kurdistan began on December 15 with the aim of closing the camps. So far, 34 women and children of foreign ISIS fighters have been handed over to the Russian government delegation.

Earlier this month, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Michael Eric Corella visited both Roj and Hol camps in West Kurdistan, negotiating with officials and some refugees in the camps on the return of ISIS families to their countries and homelands.

According to statistics, there are more than 45,000 refugees in both the Roj and Hol camps, along with more than 9,000 detained ISIS members under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
