WATCH: Kurdish security discover Marijuana field in Kurdistan

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – Erbil Security (Asayish) on Wednesday confiscated a Marijuana field in the Kurdistan Region and arrested a group of eight persons.

In an exclusive operation, Kurdistan24 reporter Bargasht Akrayi accompanied with Erbil Asayish travel to the Marijuana field located around the city of Erbil.

The General Director of Erbil Security told Kurdistan24 that it was the first time an illegal drug field was discovered in the Kurdistan Region.

According to him, the group was producing illicit narcotics in the area without the permission of the land-owner.

The suspects allegedly told the owner they used the land to grow agricultural products and they would share the revenue by 50-50.

The security destroyed the field and confiscated five kilograms of drugs inside the group’s house in the neighborhood.

Moreover, the Security Director stated the group was selling the drugs in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Erbil.
