WATCH: Kirkuk security arrests teenager wearing suicide vest

A teenager wearing suicide vest was caught by security forces in Kirkuk who had plans to blow himself in another neighborhood of Kirkuk. His vest was dismantled by the security forces.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – An attack by a suicide bomber targeted a Shia mosque in Wasit neighborhood - another teenage suicide bomber arrested in the city of Kirkuk.

Security sources stated that four people were wounded after the bomber blew himself up.

The attack was aimed at the Jaafar Sadiq Shia shrine in Wasit neighborhood.

According to a Kurdistan24 reporter, the suicide bomber was trying to target worshipers at the mosque but was forced to detonate his vest at the gate.

An eyewitness near the mosque told the Kurdistan24 reporter that police guarding the mosque saw a suspicious man demanding him to stop. However, the man kept moving intending to enter the mosque through the main gate.

The security forces guarding the mosque prevented his entry by shooting him four times before the bomb was detonated resulting in the injury of one police and three civilians.

Following the explosion a teenager wearing suicide vest was caught by security forces in Kirkuk who had plans to blow himself in another neighborhood of Kirkuk. His vest was dismantled by the security forces.
