In the international realm of cinema, a new name stands out: Hayman Homer. This young, up-and-coming American actor of Kurdish origin has made a significant impact in the film industry with his historic performance as the first Kurd to portray Jesus Christ in "The Messiah." The film is currently showing at the Museum of the Bible, the largest Bible museum in the world, located in Washington, D.C.

Produced by Jonathan Martin Creative Studio in Tennessee, the film boasts a compelling storyline, stunning visual effects, and a diverse cast. Yet, it is Hayman's portrayal of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that truly stands out. This isn't the first time Hayman has portrayed such an iconic role, indicating his potential to become Hollywood’s next big star.

Hayman Homer hails from Nashville, Tennessee, and originates from a Kurdish family in Erbil. His journey has been nothing short of inspirational; he arrived in Nashville in 2017 with little to no support, working various jobs to support himself while pursuing his dreams. He began his career in commercial modeling and music videos, honing his craft at Nashville Acting Studio. Hayman holds a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations from Salahaddin University. His background is a significant driving force in his life. Raised by a single mother with seven siblings, his father, a Peshmerga intelligence officer who fought for Kurdish independence, was a prisoner of war and was martyred when Hayman was just ten years old.

"My father fought his whole life for the Kurdish people’s rights. I’m continuing his path by telling powerful stories that resonate with the world. I’m in Kurdistan to build a strong and talented team to develop our film infrastructure, connect Hollywood and Kurdistan, attract tourism, and create jobs in the film industry," Hayman expressed.

Off-screen, Hayman Homer is well-known for his contributions to the community. He serves on the boards of the Tennessee Kurdish Community Council and the Kurdistani Diaspora Confederation, both of which promote democracy, peace, free expression, and community cooperation. These organizations aim to unite the efforts of the Kurdish diaspora from various classes and generations, fostering the development of Kurdish culture, language, and folklore, and highlighting their historical significance in Kurdistan.

Hayman recently attended the Berlin International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival and is working on several new projects in the Middle East. His goal is to provide representation for Kurds in global cinema and entertainment, bringing awareness to a people often overlooked.
