ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani officially welcomed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian upon his arrival in Erbil on Thursday.
The visit marks a significant diplomatic event as the leaders aim to discuss key areas of cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Iran.
President Pezeshkian is currently in meetings with senior Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) officials, focusing on strengthening relations between the two neighboring regions.
He is also expected to hold further talks with Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani to address shared interests, including economic, security, and political cooperation.
The visit is part of Pezeshkian’s broader regional tour, aimed at reinforcing Iran's ties with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
