Eastern Kurdistan Students Cross Mud and Water for Classes

Children in Darreh Kuleh village near Sanandaj cross mud and a river to reach school, as residents continue to wait for a promised bridge.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Children from Darreh Kuleh village, on the outskirts of Sina in Eastern Kurdistan, make a difficult journey each day to reach school, crossing a muddy and hazardous route and wading through a river in pursuit of education.

The images show the daily hardship faced by students as they navigate the unsafe path to attend their classes.

For families in the village, the journey has been made more difficult by the failure to fulfill promises to build a bridge that would provide safer access.

Despite the conditions, the children continue to make their way to school, turning an ordinary commute into a daily struggle for education.
