PM Barzani discusses energy relations between Kurdistan Region and Qatar
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with the Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi in Doha on Wednesday.
The two officials discussed developing Kurdistan-Qatar ties, particularly in the energy sector and natural gas, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
They also talked about strengthening the coordination between the two sides.
On the agenda of PM Barzani and the Qatari minister's meeting is "Kurdistan's huge gas potential" and "Regional energy cooperation," Barzani tweeted following his meeting.
"Teams from both governments to explore the areas, including in renewables and energy investment," he added.

Al-Kaabi is also the Chief Executive Officer of the state-owned Qatar Energy.
Barzani’s meeting with al-Kaabi followed a meeting with the Qatari Commerce and Industry Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad al-Thani. He discussed trade ties between their two nations.

The prime minister arrived in the Gulf state on Tuesday for an official visit, which began with a visit to the Qatar Foundation for scientific and educational development.
The KRG head of foreign relations, Safeen Dizayee, told Kurdistan 24 on Tuesday that the Kurdistan Region seeks to develop its diplomatic ties with Arab countries.
Barzani is also set to meet with Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the ruler of the wealthy Gulf state, on Wednesday.
