Syria's Manbij hit by Turkish drone strike for second time in two days

A Turkish drone carried out a targeted strike on Manbij on Wednesday for the second time in two days.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A Turkish drone carried out a targeted strike in the northwestern Syrian city of Manbij on Wednesday for the second time in two days, local media reports.

"A drone believed to be Turkish bombed the village of al-Jat in the northern countryside of Syria's Manbij," the local North Press news agency reported.

Moreover, North Press reported that Turkish forces and affiliated Syrian militias also shelled al-Hussan village northeast of Manbij city.

The day before, Tuesday, a Turkish drone carried out a targeted strike near Manbij.

Since late January, the number of Turkish drone strikes in northeast Syria has increased.

According to a Feb. 14 SOHR report, Turkish drones carried out six attacks since early February. 

These strikes targeted vehicles and positions in SDF-held parts of Aleppo and Hasakah, "killing eight people, including two children and a female fighter, and injuring 13 others."
