ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) head Musa Ahmed held a joint press conference with Nazmi Hazouri, the Consul General of Palestine in the Kurdistan Region, on Wednesday, where he announced that the BCF will send 14 tons of medicine and medical supplies, 2,500 baskets of food, 200 baskets of medicine and 200 boxes of clothes to Gaza.

"The humanitarian aid will be flown to the [Borg El] Arab airport in Egypt and from there to the Rafah Border Crossing to be handed over to the people of Gaza," the BCF head said.

Mr. Ahmed also added that "President [Masoud] Barzani emphasizes the need to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. Since Oct. 18, we have been in contact with the Palestinian consulate and relevant parties in Gaza and other areas affected by the war.”

Meanwhile, the Palestine Consul General expressed his gratitude to the BCF.

“A large number of civilians, mainly women and children, have been killed and tens of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced. About half a million Palestinians now lack drinking water, medical care, and necessities," Hazouri noted.

Moreover, after the Turkey-Syria earthquake in February, the BCF was the first agency to deliver humanitarian aid to Afrin and its surrounding areas on Feb. 10, and it has continued to distribute aid since then.

The Hamas-linked Gaza Health Ministry recently announced the death toll has reached nearly 14,000 people in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli offensive began on Oct. 7.
