KRG launches major infrastructure projects in Amedi district

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - In a move to boost local infrastructure and services, the Kurdistan Regional Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, has initiated a series of ambitious service projects in the Amedi district, with plans to extend these efforts across other areas in the coming weeks.

The announcement was made during a ceremony on Thursday, April 4, marking the commencement of these vital developments, particularly within the districts of Chamanke and Sarsange, signaling a new era of growth and development for the region.

The ceremony, attended by Duhok’s Governor Ali Tatar, underscored the government's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through substantial investments in infrastructure. The projects, valued at over six billion dinars, encompass a wide range of services aimed at improving road access, electricity supply, and overall community welfare.

Among the key projects launched are:

1. Road Development: A critical seven-kilometer road linking Cheluke and Siyare is to be constructed at a cost of 1.374 billion dinars. Additionally, a six-kilometer roadway will be built for the Avuke community, with an investment of 1.032 billion dinars. Another project will see the creation of a three-kilometer road connecting Spindare and Cheluke villages, costing 659 million dinars.

2. Electricity Infrastructure: The Avuke village and its residents will benefit from new electricity lines, ensuring reliable power supply, with the project costing 216 million dinars.

3. Comprehensive Development in Sarsang District: A substantial allocation of two billion and 375 million dinars is directed towards a variety of projects in the Sarsang district, aiming at bolstering the local infrastructure and enhancing community services.

Governor Ali Tatar, in a press conference, highlighted that these projects received the approval from Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and are financed through Duhok province's special budget.

He emphasized the transformative impact these projects are expected to have on the tourism sector and overall economic growth in the Amedi district, particularly benefiting the Sarsang and Chamanke districts.

The governor also revealed plans for initiating more service projects in Amedi next week, demonstrating the government's ongoing commitment to regional development and prosperity. This series of projects represents a significant step forward in the Kurdistan Regional Government's efforts to improve infrastructure and services, promising a brighter future for its residents.
