KRG provides Qatari investors with any facilities needed: PM Barzani

“The Kurdistan Region and Qatar have good relations. Senior Qatari officials have visited the Kurdistan Region in the past, and we have also visited the State of Qatar,” the premier said.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday at the inauguration of the Qatari consulate in Erbil said that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) provides Qatari investors with any facilities needed.

Prime Minister Barzani's remarks came during his speech at the inauguration.

The Prime Minister hoped that this step would be the beginning of further development of friendly relations between the Kurdistan Region and Qatar.

“The Kurdistan Region and Qatar have good relations. Senior Qatari officials have visited the Kurdistan Region in the past, and we have also visited the State of Qatar,” the premier said.

He also noted that they have great respect for the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and they wish to strengthen bilateral ties in various fields based on common interests.

“The opening of the Qatari Consulate General will strengthen our relations in various fields, especially in the fields of trade, agriculture, culture and higher education,” Barzani stated.

“Qatar's remarkable success in investment, prosperity, construction, energy, and economic vitality presents an invaluable opportunity for the Kurdistan Region to leverage and learn from. We extend a warm invitation to Qatari investors to explore the potential of the Kurdistan Region and embark on ventures across diverse sectors,” he stressed.

He then added “With its stability, tranquility, and favorable geographical features, the Kurdistan Region offers an ideal environment for investment, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and industry. Embracing diversified investment aligns closely with our government's commitment to economic diversification.”

“In celebrating the opening of the Consulate General of Qatar, we express our heartfelt congratulations and extend our best wishes for the fruitful advancement of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Qatar,” the Prime Minister concluded.
