ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani on Wednesday met with Alina L. Romanowski, the United States Ambassador to Iraq, in Baghdad, according to a statement from Barzani Headquarters.

During the meeting, KDP President Barzani outlined the motivations for his visit, highlighting that his trip was prompted by a perceived positive shift in Iraqi officials' willingness to resolve longstanding issues, adhere to the constitution, and foster a constructive atmosphere in Baghdad. The discussions also encompassed matters of national significance.

Ambassador Romanowski conveyed US support for President Barzani's visit and the enhancement of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad. Regarding the upcoming elections in the Kurdistan Region, Ambassador Romanowski welcomed the timing of the parliamentary elections, indicating US endorsement of this democratic process.
