For the first time since 2014, full Nineveh province under Iraqi control
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Iraqi PM announces full control of the Nineveh provinces from the Islamic State (IS)
Haider al-Abadi, the Iraqi PM, in a statement on Thursday announced the full liberation of Nineveh province after ousting the IS extremists from their last stronghold in the town of Ayadiya, northern Talafar.
“I announce that Tal Afar has joined the liberated Mosul and returned to the homeland,” Abadi said, stating that “our brave Armed Forces have liberated Tal Afar and the Iraqi flag is once again flying high in Nineveh province.”
Iraqi PM added that in the past few days IS extremists have been eliminated in Ayadiya and other areas, as they were not allowed to flee which proves our firm position on the criminals whom pose a threat on all people in the region and around the world.
