KRG President meets with Ammar al-Hakim in Baghdad

In addition to his participation in the coalition meeting, President Barzani held separate meetings with Iraqi PM Mohammad Shia al-Sudani and Mohammad Halbusi, the former speaker of the Iraqi Parliament and leader of the Progress Party.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani engaged in discussions with Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Wisdom Movement (al-Hikma), in Baghdad on Sunday morning, April 28, 2024.

President Nechirvan Barzani's visit to Baghdad, initiated on Saturday evening, coincided with his attendance at a meeting of the Iraqi ruling coalition to deliberate on the Kurdistan Democratic Party's participation in the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

In addition to his participation in the coalition meeting, President Barzani held separate meetings with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani and Mohammad Halbusi, the former speaker of the Iraqi House of Representatives and leader of the Progress Party.

The meeting with Ammar al-Hakim underscores President Barzani's commitment to engaging with key political figures to address pertinent issues, including electoral participation and broader political developments in the region.
