KDP President Masoud Barzani offers condolences to Iran

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – In a statement, KDP President Masoud Barzani expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a helicopter crash.
"I was deeply saddened to hear the news of the deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdullahian in a tragic helicopter crash," the statement read.
President Barzani extended his condolences to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian government, and the families of the victims, emphasizing his solidarity with the people of Iran during this difficult time.
"May God grant everyone patience," he added.
The deaths of Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian have shocked the region, prompting a wave of condolences from leaders worldwide.
The crash, which occurred under still-unclear circumstances, is currently under investigation by Iranian authorities. This tragic event has left a significant void in the Iranian leadership and raised questions about the country’s political future.
Iranian media on Monday reported the death of President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation after their helicopter crashed in a rugged mountainous area in northwest Iran. The helicopter, which went missing on Sunday, was found with "no sign" of life in the wreckage.

Mehr News Agency announced, "Mr. Ebrahim Raisi was martyred" along with Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian.
Official media broadcast a picture of Raisi accompanied by verses from the Holy Quran, though an official announcement is still pending. Former Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and other officials expressed condolences on social media.
