PM Barzani meets head of Fatah Alliance amid high-level discussions in Baghdad

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held a significant meeting with Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Fatah Alliance, on Thursday, May 30, in Baghdad.

Prior to his discussion with al-Amiri, Prime Minister Barzani engaged in separate meetings with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem al-Araji.

These meetings are part of Barzani's broader visit to Baghdad, aimed at strengthening ties and addressing key issues with federal officials and political leaders.

Prime Minister Barzani's arrival in Baghdad on Thursday morning marked the beginning of a series of high-level engagements designed to foster cooperation and dialogue between the Kurdistan Region and the central government of Iraq.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani have reiterated the importance of resolving issues through constitutional dialogue.

The affirmation came during their meeting in Baghdad on Thursday, according to the prime minister's press office.

The discussions focused on the general situation in Iraq, addressing national-level issues, and reviewing the federal government's initiatives in the fields of services and economy.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Region also met with Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem Al-Araji on Thursday, May 30, in Baghdad.

In a post on social media Platform (x), the Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister explained the reason for his visit to baghdad as a way "to bring renewed certainty to this important relationship."

"We must resolve our differences through dialogue and understanding to prioritize cooperation and economic growth," the post continued.
