PM Masrour Barzani meets with Iraqi Nahj Alliance leader

A key focus of the discussion was securing the financial dues owed to the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - On Thursday, May 30, 2024, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Masrour Barzani, met in Baghdad with Abdul-Sada al-Fariji, Secretary-General of the Iraqi Nahj Alliance.

According to a statement by the KRG's Department of Media and Information, the meeting emphasized the need to support efforts aimed at resolving controversial issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.

A key focus of the discussion was securing the financial dues owed to the Kurdistan Region.

Both leaders highlighted the importance of addressing these critical issues to enhance cooperation and stability, ensuring that the financial rights of the Kurdistan Region are upheld within the framework of Iraq's federal system.

During his series of meetings in Baghdad, the Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister Barzani held discussions with several prominent figures, including Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law coalition, Acting Speaker of Parliament Mohsen al-Mandalawi, Faleh al-Fayaz head of Popular Mobilization Force (PMF), the Chairman of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council Fayeq Zedan, Khamis al-Khanjar the leader of Sunni Sovereignty Alliance, Qais al-Khazzali, the secretary general of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq militia, Hadi al-Amiri, the secretary general of the Badr Organization, and Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem al-Araji.
